Now in its 17th year, Figure Skating in Harlem remains the first and only organization in the country that combines the power of education with the grace and discipline of figure skating. Its mission is to transform the lives of underserved New York City girls. Through its unique programming, FSH empowers girls with innovative year-round health, education and fitness programs that promote academic success, physical health, and emotional well-being. The proceeds from this year’s gala are vital and will help to expand academic programming. Founded by Sharon Cohen, FSH is constantly growing to meet the needs of the girls it serves as it plans for the creation of a home ice rink and academic center of its own to anchor in the community. www.figureskatinginharlem.org
